  • Grrrrrrr!

We have been having some super busy days here! There is always so much to do, and I seem to run out of steam before I can finish it all. I have been sewing a lot and my shoulder is not happy. I am not happy with the pain, either. Today I am going for some therapy. I pray it will help. I am not very good at resting.

Friday night I had the young people here for Bible study. They are so precious. Being with them makes me feel young. Then I stand up, and realize OUCH! No, I am not so young anymore!

Saturday we went to a lovely wedding! Beautiful, shy bride. Happy, nervous groom. So sweet and tender. May God bless their lives together.

Sunday was a wonderful day in God's house. Oh! I love His people. They are family! We all better learn to love each other, since we will be spending eternity together, right?
    ************************************************
This portion from the Psalms has been going around in my head.

(Psalm 24:7-10 NIV)  Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty-- he is the King of glory.

I rejoice in that particular phrase: THE LORD GOD STRONG AND MIGHTY....  It makes me sad when people live like they have a weak and wimpy God.  My God can do ANYTHING! My God keeps His promises. He has all authority, and He is faithful.

I know Christians are to be peaceful folks, but I don't think we are supposed to be weak and passive when it comes to spiritual things. We have an enemy. We are in a war. A lot of us seem to forget that, but all we have to do is open our eyes and look around. So much has been stolen from us. I think that is because we have been complacent and prayer-less. If someone tried to hurt your kids, or worse..... STEAL them, you would fight, wouldn't you? Well, "someone" IS trying to do that! Satan wants this generation. He wants EVERY generation. He only has one purpose on this earth, and that is to steal and destroy anything good. We cannot stand around and let that happen! FIGHT! That's why God gave us armor! And, don't fight people. People are not the problem. I think we forget that sometimes.

(Eph. 6:10-12 NLT)  A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

Our God is strong and mighty! We need to reflect that in our lives! And we need to pray! Pray! Pray for our nations, our families, our leaders, our witness. We fight on our knees.

(Proverbs 28:1 NLT) "The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions."  Grrrr! We do not have a wimpy God, so please, can we stop being wimpy Christians?

(Psalm 144:1  NLT) A psalm of David. Praise the LORD, who is my rock. He trains my hands for war and gives my fingers skill for battle.

Be bold in living your life for God. Bold in prayer, remembering you have a strong and mighty God! Be like a lion! Grrrrrrr!

  • Yes, I agree. Dare to be a Daniel.

We went to a wedding Sat. too.

  • It is so frustrating to have so much to do when our bodies won't cooperate ~ feel better soon!

  • so we don't fight others but evil ? neat

  • The older I get the more I must rely on God for my strength, because mine just ain't what it used to be! The aches and pains come quicker and stay longer!

Sometimes in order to be a channel of peace we must fight against many things such as injustice, poverty, tyranny and so on. It is a difficult charge at times to keep, but if we stay the course and allow ourselves to be guided by deep faith and love for God we shall prevail.

  • Thanks for the reminder.

  • You need to rest sometimes! I pray that you feel better!

  • Busy here, too! There's never enough time to go around! (Especially for fun things.) ;)

  • Advil works miracles!

  • @GoneRetired - Thank you.   I do take Advil, along with a bunch of other prescribed pain meds. My body is just goofed up, (two artificial hips, a broken back that didn't heal right, etc.) but I am thankful for all I am able to do.

  • Yes, be bold in prayer, visualise and ask!

  • We definitely do NOT have a whimpy GOD!

My bible says we are to fear him, I for one do not want to upset him. I have had many spankings so I know some of that strongness he has lol. No I would never think my God is a whimp.

    Great post.

BTW: Thanks for stopping by & wow congrats 40 pounds gone is fabulas so tell me how did you do it lol?

    Hugs Mae.

  • @Mymanyblessings - The way I did it was to get sick! LOL! I had a naughty gall bladder, and here in Denmark, I had to wait quite a while to get an appointment to have it out. I was unable to eat ANYTHING with fat, or I would get really ill. I lived on Special K cereal and apples. I do not recommend this as a healthy diet! I have kept the weight off for over a year now, so I see the whole experience as a blessing. I have more energy and my back hurts less. All good! It is nice to be able to eat other things now, but I try to be careful.

  • We can scare ourselves just by talking about scary things!
