Chicken Glasses
I learned something new and interesting the other day. They make glasses for chickens. No kiddin'! Little tiny glasses that fit over the bridge of their beaks! The idea is that they keep peace in the coop. They are little red glasses. Chickens get excited and vicious when they see blood, and they will peck an injured chicken to death. Because the glasses are tinted red, everything looks red to them and they do not recognize blood. Wearing the glasses makes them calmer. They are more productive layers and grow faster. Is that not incredible?I know a lot of vicious people. I wonder if red sunglasses would be of any help.
No, Probably not! I am a big fan of mercy. I am a big fan of being positive. I love to love people, and I believe you should give them understanding and believe the best of them. I know we talk about people who see the world through "rose tinted glasses." This type of person, (according to Google) only sees the pleasant things in life. But, I also know that LOVE is a positive and powerful force. I choose love!

Oh, I know there is a dark underbelly to the world. I know there is plenty of evil around. I know we live on a sin sick earth. Believe me, I have heard many sad and sordid things in the counseling room. Sin is ugly. The king of sin wants to kill, steal and destroy.

Yes, we have to deal with that "thief" every day, but I love the second part of that verse! Knowing God helps me enjoy life! Knowing Him takes the worries away from living. I have His peace in my heart. His joy every day. His wisdom to guide me, and His presence to protect and calm me. He is SO much better than a pair of rose colored glasses!

i really don't know what to say... wow... 1) that chickens are that violent 2) that some dude figured out to filter the sight of blood from the chickens

It's a little puzzling, though; if they see red (literally) you would almost think it would do the opposite, and they would explode with violence! It's certainly a funny picture! You wouldn't think they would stay on, would you?
I wonder how they get the glasses to stay on. I once had a Xanga sidebar ad having to do with chicken aprons, which are a garment for chickens that have had their feathers plucked by others.

If they are pecking each other enough to draw blood, they are too crowded or miserable in some other way. I've NEVER had chickens peck each other to the point of drawing blood in all the decades I've raised them. Chickens have terrible night vision, so the red glasses mimic that, which means you are partially blinding them to keep them more quiet. I don't think they're cute at all.
@Roadkill_Spatula - You keep the glasses on with a pin that goes through their nostrils.

Too bad chastity belts do not work anymore. People know too much to pick a lock of a chastity belt.
I suppose they could design a device against people who do too much sex that would be similar to the chicken glasses.
Many Christians are bold enough to say/believe that G-d can convert people from sin. I wonder how many successes and failures you have seen? Then again it is not easy to predict the change from conversion, G-d only knows.

@PPhilip - I am always interested in your comments. I have seen some totally changed lives as a result of inviting God into them. Mine being one example. I have a friend who used to do coke and beat his wife. Now he loves God, is totally out of the drugs, and has become a pastor! The change in his life was noticed by everyone who knew him before and after! It has been more than 18 years now, and he is still living for God. I know many, many more stories like this. God wants to pull us out of our sick, sinful lives and give us one that is so much better!
