One small word. Only three letters. ALL. Such a little word, but with such a big meaning.
All to Jesus I surrender;
All to him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust him,

All. Everything. Holding nothing back.
The house
The car
The kids
The grandkids
The spouse/Boyfriend/Girlfriend
The job/career
School
Finances
Future
Dreams and desires
The pain
The anger
Time
Retirement
And everything else!
Some people get scared when they think about this. I know when I was younger, I thought
that if I really surrendered ALL to Jesus, He would surely make me do something I did
NOT want to do, or go somewhere I did NOT want to go. But, it isn't like that.
Giving all to Jesus can be the most amazing, freeing thing ever! I used to feel like I was
captain of a boat that I didn't know how to steer. I was being tossed around by the waves
blown about by the winds. I did not think I would ever find my destination. Yes, but
then I turned the wheel over to the One who knew what He was doing! He knew where I needed
to go! Now, I can relax!
There is an old song by Love Song which says
I was barreling on full speed ahead
Trying really hard to be the driver
Thinking I was making real good time,
But always winding up the late arriver.
But now, I'm riding in the backseat
And, I find it is a very great relief.
Now I'm riding in the backseat
And leaving all the driving to the chief!
Pretty much says it all!
II Timothy 1:12 AMP .. I perceive, have knowledge of and am acquainted with Him -- Whom I
have believed (adhered to and trusted in and relied on) and I am (positively) persuaded that
He is able to guard and keep that which has been entrusted to me, and which I have
committed to Him until
that day.

that is one of my favorite songs - i surrender all. though easier to sing at times than live! but truly how i want my heart to be, because yes, as you said.. it is the most free when it is yielded. good word for me to have in my head today - ALL.
We are not our own. We have been bought with a very dear price, therefore it is foolish to think we really can withhold anything from Him in the long run. But...it seems that we can say "I surrender all" consciously but subconsciously believe that when push comes to shove that we will ignore our previous promise and have some real good excuse for it.
I find He is so trustworthy and able. It is easier to surrender the longer I walk with Him!
Thanks for asking about Colton. He is doing better. They adjusted the special diet ( mostly fat, it is the weirdest thing, but makes all the difference) , and he is down to more manageable, less traumatic seizures. An ongoing prayer need for healing, and my cousin is being drawn closer by the Lord.
Isn't Love Song a christian singing group? I suppose most of you music is mainstream and most of it is traditional?
What is your thoughts on whether or not the Church can be headed by a woman Pastor? I know that you rely upon Pea Eater and he also relies upon a car driven by The Driver.

@PPhilip - Yes, Love Song was one of the first Christian contemporary bands. Way back in the 60's! I like all kinds of music. Christian contemporary, old hymns, country, opera, some solo artist like Adele, and lots more. I grew up singing all the great old hymns of the church, so they are in my head forever, and I am glad. My husband and I attended a church for many years where the senior pastor was a woman. I have no problem with it if she is called by God. My husband did a scriptural study about it and wrote it up.
@DanishDoll - Yes, my musical roots show. Glad that you confirmed my suspicions about Pea Hater. He knows that his better half has capabilities and knows never to deny anyone's calling.
