A "Do Over?"
Have you ever wished you could have a “do-over?” Have you ever said something and then given anything if you could take it back? Have you ever longed to rewind your life and skip a part? Yeah... that would be nice. I know I have done/said things that I regret very much. Well, we cannot erase parts of our lives, but there are ways we can make things better.
(1John 1:7-9 NLT) But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, cleanses us from all sin. If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
Confessing our sins is good for us. Dealing with our mistakes and making things right can only make us stronger. God is so faithful. He knows we goof up. All we have to do is ask Him for forgiveness, and then ask for His grace and strength to change the behavior. If we have wronged anyone, we meed to also go to them personally and ask forgiveness. It’s not really that complicated, is it?
So, why do you suppose it is so hard to do? I guess the biggest reason is pride. We do not like to admit when we are wrong. We squirm at the thought of facing someone we have done wrong to. Humbling ourselves and asking forgiveness is something we often choose to avoid.
But if you don’t make it right, the ache in your heart is still there. The pain doesn’t go away. It’s like having a big splinter in your hand. You have got to take it out if you want it to heal. Choosing God’s remedy is sometimes painful, but it is the only way that brings relief. Yeah, you can harden your heart. You can push the problem down deep and try to ignore it. I have tried that. It made me even more miserable. It’s not worth it.

so true, so true ~ we think do-overs would be nice, but if we weren't any wiser the second time around, we would probably end up making bad choices again ~ and so, our scars are a blessing sometimes ~ to serve us as reminders of His grace, forgiveness, mercy ~ and how we do not want to go through that particular experience again, if we can help it ~ have a beautiful Sunday ~
humbly confess heals, yes.

I also like Fwren's comment.
A Do Over. I would probably make new mistakes and have different sins. It is so hard to get around Rom. 3:23. lol That is a killer verse.
I love 1 John. My Fundamental Baptist friends call it the book of Assurance. lol Not so fast. It does contain phrases like, If someone says that they love God, and........' lol
Confession is the key. I used to tell God that I hated confessing the same old sins every day. It was an incentive to do something about it, and hope not to have to confess you fresh sins.
Enjoy your day.

In a generation of multiple lives and instant do-overs, we forget that do-overs don't happen in real life. Instead we have to face up to mistakes and make restitution. I see that as a big hurdle for many of the younger folks...

Yes, easier said than done, but there is relief, and the burden of guilt lifted when we do admit our wrongs and ask forgiveness.
