Warning -- Grandma Post!
I think I have the cutest, smartest, most adorable grandchildren in the whole wide world. If you are a grandparent, I am sure you feel the same about your precious grandchildren. (OK. That is your clue to leave if you do not want to read a proud, grandma post.)
My oldest daughter has two little boys. My youngest daughter has two little girls. Lucas is the oldest, and will be turning 4 at the end of this month. He is an "out of the box" kind of kid. He likes to get up early and get into things! The other morning his daddy awoke to find Lucas staring at him. When he knew daddy was awake, he said "Guess what I've been doing!" YIKES! That can strike fear in the heart of any parent with a precocious four year old!
Well, it turns out, he had been "hatching eggs." Yeah. My daughter had bought four dozen on sale. Lucas had carefully taken every one of them out of the refrigerator and placed them in a couple of bowls under the table in the dining room. I am not sure how they were supposed to be hatching, but it is a miracle that not a single one was broken. He was a little disappointed that he didn't get any chickens!
The other day he asked his mommy, "Where's my wife?" So sweet. Mommy explained that he can be a little boy for a lot longer before he has to get a wife, but God knows where she is, and when the time is right, He will bring her around.
I could talk about this kid all day. I love him so much! He has an adorable little brother who I do not know very well. I have only seen him in person when he is born. He is over a year old now.
This is my dear family in New York. Love them!
My sweet little granddaughters live in N. Ireland. Sianna is two now, and she is really something. She can read some words, and she can count. She knows her colors and many shapes. She talks very well. She is also smart about getting her own way, and is very focused on achieving that goal! Sometimes her speech has a real N. Irish accent, and then other times she sounds like her U.S. mommy. She likes to play her piano, look at books, draw on her easel and watch Peppa Pig cartoons.
Here is my son in law with our precious little girls. Aliza is almost five months old now. I was there when she was born. She is a sweet little baby, but I think she will be able to hold her own. Her big sister adores her. Sometimes she is a little rough about it, but Aliza is usually OK with that.
This week I played with Sianna for a while on SKYPE. We sang songs and did the motions, (The Wheels on the Bus!) I did my puppet show thing, and she made me tea. Then she bit her little sister and the tea party was over!
She had to spend some time on the naughty seat. She protested LOUDLY! I see my grandchildren as little bundles of potential and possibilities. I pray for them daily, and ask God to protect and guide them. I wonder who they will turn out to be. I wonder how God will use their gifts and personalities. I pray their parents will have the wisdom, strength and grace to be good examples for them, and to teach them to love and obey God.
Another grandchild should arrive in August. My cup runneth over! I also have some wonderful little people here in Denmark that call me Bedste. (Grandma) We have a lot of fun with them. I am always making things for my grandchildren. I just finished a rug for Victoria's room, and I am working on curtains for Sianna's room. Every so often I send the older ones a letter with a few little toys. I do everything I can to let them know that even though I am far away, I am thinking of them. I can't wait for the next time I get to see them so that we can make some more memories together.
Hope you are having a nice weekend! If you read to the end, THANK YOU!

happy saturday and thanks for sharing the joy. you ALL are so mutually blessed.
What beautiful grandchildren! Thank you for sharing. I think it's so interesting that you have " two and two" of each, and that they live in such different places!
And there will be another - the tie-breaker!
I know I shouldn't wish my life away, but I do hope I get to be a grandmother some day (and I hope I'm good at it!).
For now, I just have to settle for being a puppy gramma!
Oh Mae, I love this post. Your a wonderful gramma. I only have one grand child she is 15. My daughter can't have any more children I do have 2 in heaven though. One I got to meet the other well I do not know what it was but I know I will know someday. My grand daughter is very smart, & gifted. And she loves God. I believe he has something very special for her to do. I too pray for her, & all my great niece's, & nephews as well as their parents. I pray the God's blood all over them everyday. Thank you Mae for sharing this & God bless you
.
HAPPY families -- YAY!
Have a terrific weekend

I read to the end and enjoyed every word! Your grandchildren are adorable and those older two sure sound like they have a lot of spunk! You sound like a grandma who is very invested, thoughtful and creative to ensure that, although far away, you are a big part of their young lives! Reading this post was a blessing to me. And May God bless you and your beautiful family. ~Dawne
I enjoyed seeing your grandchildren. Which family is having another one? I have 3 great-grandbabies due later this year. Unfortunately only one of the babies has parents who are married.
Awwwww!!!
Wow! When I first "met" you there were no grandchildren and soon you will have five! What a delightful post -- I read to the end!!
They are all adorable! And congrats on the upcoming baby! Sounds like you are a wonderful grandma, even if you are distant from them.
nice looking family
@ata_grandma - The daughter with the two boys is having another baby. Hopefully in April they will be able to tell if it is a boy or girl. I know they would love a little girl, but three boys is fun, too!
That's a whole lot of preciousness in one post! Your oldest grandson is going to be a HEARTTHROB! I love the hatching eggs story! I can tell these guys hold a major place in your heart. You're a wonderful grandma.
they are so cute.
I just spent sometime with my two grandsons this weekend. I will post a photo later.
You do have such adorable grandchildren. I hope one day I will too. (but I'm surely not rushing it!) The hatching the eggs story was sweet. Perhaps someone can take him to a farm so he can see some real baby chickens hatching.
Adorable!
This post has been somewhat of a revelation to me.
Usually I do not read post on blogs, but I wish to say that this write-up very forced me to try and do so! Your writing style has been amazed me. Thanks, quite nice post.
